Mufti Muhammad Shafi Usmani (رحمه الله) writes in his book Jawāhir al-Fiqh:
“Whoever, on the first day of Muḥarram, writes the complete بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ (Bismillāhir-Raḥmānir-Raḥīm) 113 times (and some kitaabs mention 130 times) on a piece of paper and keeps it with himself, will be protected from all kinds of calamities and difficulties, and his sustenance will also become expanded.”
